Mechanical Engineer – Product Enhancement

We are seeking a highly motivated, self managed, and process oriented mechanical engineer to fill the key Enhancement Engineering role within our Hardware Engineering team. The ideal candidate will be a technically skilled, adept problem-solver with the ability to work comfortably on both individual and inter-departmental team projects.

 

Responsibilities include:

·         Lead cross-functional teams in identifying, prioritizing, and researching improvements to our products

·         Support proposed solutions with engineering analysis and verification experiments

·         Carry out mechanical design changes to implement improvements

·         Design, draw, procure, assemble, debug, test, and implement part and system improvements

·         Proactively prepare and deliver reports to different groups within company

·         Direct customer interaction to determine ideal solutions

·         Store and transfer knowledge to new product development team to ensure quality designs

·         Constantly seek, share, and implement best practices in hardware group

·         Guide hardware group in following standard drafting and design practices

·         Regularly plan, monitor, and report progress

 

Job Requirements:

·         Excellent mechanical design knowledge and skills

·         Methodical troubleshooting and debugging capabilities

·         Ability to maintain effective working relationships with employees and management from every department in a dynamic and cohesive team environment

·         Knowledge of automation components such as motors, pneumatic actuators, displays, sensors, control systems

·         Proficient knowledge of 3D CAD program (SolidWorks preferred) and PDM system

·         Initiative and motivation to accomplish goals with only high level management

·         Deft ability to manage time between multiple projects

·         Excellent English written and verbal communication skills

·         Ability to present to large groups

·         Proficiency creating detail drawings for machined and sheet metal parts

·         Some travel will be required

 

Education/Experience

·         Mechanical Engineering degree or 15+ years practicing mechanical design

·         5+ years of automation experience required

·         Past successful experience with project management

·         Basic experience with programming and electronics

·         Demonstrated experience leading highly successful teams
